This programme begins with one of the best loved string quartets of all time: Franz Schubert’s Death and the Maiden remains among of the most powerful and poignant works in the genre. In the second half we are joined by Canadian violin legend, Mark Fewer for a performance of Mendelssohn’s exuberant Viola Quintet in B flat.

Chamber music phenom, James Shields brings a truck-full of clarinets for two monumental quintets. Come experience the ecstatic and evocative Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind by Osvaldo Golijov. This spectacular piece combines fiery Klezmer and haunting melodies. Test Run by John Estacio and Mozart’s masterful clarinet quintet will light up the stage.
